Valen-who? [Feb. 14th, 2006|02:46 pm]

[mood |goodgood]
[music |"Starfuckers, Inc." by Nine Inch Nails]

I woke up at 7:00 this morning, and inevitably woke up my lite-sleeping roommate as usual. You see, I have to be as quiet as possible in the morning because my roommate suffers from insomnia. The slightest noise wakes him! So, after hearing him complain about that again, I went down to breakfast then headed to class. Class would have been good and well, but our teacher has a knack for expounding upon pointless tangents...anyway, what was I ultimately trying to achieve in this blog...fuck. I forget...fuck....fuck....OH YEAH! Valentine's Day! Funny thing is: I didn't realize it was Valentine's Day until 2:00pm. A lot of people really get hung up on this holiday. I guess I just don't get the point. Maybe it really is "Singles Awareness Day" (S.A.D.).

Eh, I could care less about today. As far as I'm concerned it's just another Tuesday for me to do my homework, go surfing, go to rehearsal, and smoke weed. Santa Cruz is chill, but I kid you not, my marijuana smoking has increased ten-fold. Don't get me wrong, I'm responsible with it--I try to keep it to weekends--but, compared to how much I smoked in Orange County it's scary. lol. I guess I've been smoking more because I have access to the best weed in the world and there's always someone to sesh with. Along with my marijuana smoking increase has come a HALO 2 increase. Fuck, the game is soooo goddamn addicting--especially when you start to get good.

Happy Valentines Day!

Has it really been over two months since my last update? [Feb. 7th, 2006|06:00 pm]

[music |Little Feat at the Ultrasonic Studios (74_09_19)]

Damn, it really has...maybe I live a little too fast. Oooooooookay so let's go through the basics: lately I've been listening to a lot of Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers Band, Phish, and Little Feat. I'm definitely in a jam funk, which is fine because jam music is fucking great. I have also been working out extra hard to prepare for my audition-filled summer. I'm goin' HUGE this Summer (hopefully). A little late to mention this, but I had a wonderful Winter Break just chillin' at home with my highschool friends and (now ex) girlfriend.

Now that I'm back in school I can fully appreciate being single. Don't get me wrong--being in a relationship was so wonderful. I had some of the most awesome times and memories with Krystal, but friendship is really the only way to go with so much distance physically between us. Thanks for the great times babe.

I'm going to both Coachella and Bonnaroo this year, so I have a lot of money saving and drug deals to take care of before then. LoL. Anybody down for tripping at either event (the TOOL concert at Coachelle, preferrably)?

While I'm here for ten days...(UPDATED VERSION!!!) [Nov. 30th, 2005|09:01 am]

[mood |bouncybouncy]
[music |"La Vie Boheme" from the Rent Original Broadway Cast]

Sorry for the late update (not that anyone reads this thing due to my two year leave of absence). I went back home for a four day Thanksgiving weekend. It was the first time I had been home since coming here to UC Santa Cruz. Being back home was soooooo relieving. I was able to sleep in my own bed, use my own shower, drive my own car, and see people I hadn't seen in over two months, especially my girlfriend, Krystal. My flight arrived at about six o'clock in the evening on Wednesday at John Wayne Airport. I walked out of the plane and down the stairs with my carry-on backpack to be greeted by my wonderful girlfriend who commenced jumping on my and tackling me down. I swear to you, it was one of the greatest feelings in the world. I sped home with krystal and my brother, blasting Shpongle every minute of the way. I came to notice that it was the simple things about being home I missed the most, like speeding down the 405 listening to loud music with people I love. The feeling was sensational. During the ride I told them some cool things about the college experience--about how I've grown a lot in the past two months and done a lot of new things. Both of them seemed happy for me, but kind of bummed at the same time, seeing as I would be leaving for college again in a few days; however, I reassured them both that I would be down again ten days later for a month long Christmas Break!

So, I arrived home about twenty-five minutes later. I hung out with krystal and my family and shot the bull some more. I didn't feel like staying in my house, though I felt so cozy at the time. I really just wanted to go somewhere with my girlfriend, so we hopped in her car and took a drive over to In-n-Out. Let me just say that it has been FAR TOO LONG since last eating at In-n-Out. After that we went to Regal cinemas to see Rent. While I was there, I accidentally bumped into some high school prick who wanted to fight me. I staight up said to his face "I'm visiting from college for the weekend to spend time with my friends and family. I didn't come back for your highschool drama..." I thought for a second and decided that throwing in a witty comment would be harmless, "...it's not my fault you haven't gotten laid yet." Then I walked away and entered the theatre. The movie was okay, but I much preferred the broadway version (who wouldn't?). After the movie, krystal drove me home and I crashed in my OWN BED! I slepted sooo wonderfully that night.

Thursday- THANKSGIVING! The next morning I woke up the best I ever had because when i opened my eyes, my girlfriend was laying right next to me looking at my while I slept. After that, I demaded my father make me a fucking omlette, which he did. Best omlette ever. The next few hours were spent chillin' with my family. Krystal had to leave at around noon to go see some of her family in Claremont. I wouldn't see her until about ten that night. AFter she left, I went over to Ronnie's house and hung out for a while. We had a blast just catching up. He's hardly on AIM or Myspace, so it's hard to get in contact with him unless I call him, but he's always working, so it's hard to call him! It was good seeing a friend who has known me since first grade. After I left his house, I drove in a hurry because I wanted some fucking Turkey. I got home and the bird wasn't ready yet. GOD I WAS SO HUNGRY! I went up stairs and played some Mario Kart DS online. btw-if you have Mario Kart DS, my friend code is 206218 370918. holler back on AIM (iamnotzev) and let me know if you wanna play. After two hours of getting pwned by people who were obviously using some cheat device, I went down stairs and munched on turkey, stuffing, mash 'taters, sweet 'taters, green beens, etc...what a lovely thanksgiving. I said I was thankful for home, family, friends, and mario kart.

Friday was a day I had set aside to hang out with the guys, but I couldn't resist going to hang out with my girlfriend beforehand. We hung out at her house, then I took her to THHS to let her work on the set for her upcoming play "Hidden: The Story of Anne Frank." I stuck around for a while to chat with my old drama teacher, Mr. Beidler. It was good seeing him again. Then Krystal and I parted our ways as I went to chill with the homies...fuck I have class, I'll update later today.

Okay back to updating...where was I?? AH YES! The homies. I went to hang out with the homies for the rest of the night. At six o'clock we ingested psilocybe cubensis mushrooms. My brother, Paul, and Jeff each ate an eighth because it was their first time. I ate a quad. We all had wonderful trips. Mine, in particular, was extra visual because of the higher dose. I was glad I did it with them because they were all inexperienced, so I was there to guide them. Paul even said "Dude, I'm so glad I'm doing this with you...you're like a spiritual guide." We went over to Ronnie's house to hang out while tripping. Sammy said "Dude, Ronnie, you're such a good presence!" and I said "Wow Sammy...you're pretty gay." Then Ronnie said "Thanks n all...but yeah, I'm getting a big homo vibe." We all laughed our asses off and had a great time just chillin' like the old times. After we all came down from our trip, Sammy, Jeff and myself drove to my house to watch Harold and Kumar and go to sleep. Woke up the next day...

Saturday: Before heading home I wanted to set aside a day that I could spend strictly with my girlfriend. I woke up to her beautiful smile again and went over to her house to watch her "Mirrors XV: A Dance in Someone Else's Shoes" performance. It was fantastic. It made me miss my highschool production company soooo much. After that we went back to my house to eat dinner with the fam. My mom was running a bit late because of traffic, so I caught up on the last two OC episodes which were great to say the least. After watching the OC, we went to La Perlita, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, to eat some dank food. After that, we went back to my house to get Krystal's car. We headed down to the Montage in Laguna Beach and had a wonderful romantic evening.

Sunday I came back to Santa Cruz. I'm tight.

Dragon Quest 8 [Nov. 13th, 2005|05:19 pm]

[music |"I Might Be Wrong" by Radiohead]

I have a confession. It's something that has been eating at my soul for quite some time now and I feel compelled to share it with you: I have never played a Dragon Quest game. THERE, I SAID IT. Well, after heavy research and internet browsing I have come to the conclusion that I will buy Dragon Quest VIII for the PS2. Now, you may be asking yourself, "Why the fuck start now when the series has been in existence for over a decade?" Well, how many of you started playing the Final Fantasy series at VII? I certainly didn't, but I know a majority of the FF fans today started at Cloud's adventure. The reason I wanted to tie Final Fantasy into this little update is because Dragon Quest VIII has something very special to offer in that department. Yes, that's right folks, if you buy Dragon Quest VIII, you get a free PLAYABLE DEMO OF FINAL FANTASY XII.

Okay, I have another confession. I was hardly interested in playing Dragon Quest VIII. I just wanted to get my paws on that fucking demo. However, since I will be throwing down fifty big ones for the package, I decided to check out the DQ series. What the fuck have I been doing in the past? Fuck this...I'm gonna go on ebay and look for some more DQ games. peace.

essays, flashcards, and plays...an endless cycle [Nov. 7th, 2005|05:45 pm]

[mood |busy]
[music |"Melodies of Life" by Nobuo Uematsu]

College certainly knows how to keep a fun-loving eighteen-year-old busy with intellect. In Porter Core (English) we finished reading Tony Kushner's "Angels in America." Wow, what a fabulous play (pun completely intended if you've read it). Anyway, I have to write an essay and I'm definitely going to the topic of homosexuality in America. I'm going to write about the difficulties homosexuals go through in society today. Anyway, on top of that (btw, it's due tomorrow) I have a shit load of Hebrew homework due (that comes with the teacher knowing my fluency). I also have to write a script for my final performance in Theatre 60A. Don't let the title fool you--Theatre 60A is a fucking hard class, but I enjoy it.

Today in Core, we began reading stuff out of Angels in America. The play has small Hebrew/Aramaic bits dispersed throughout the scenes, so I had to play translator for the day. Of course, the actual words of the Hebrew are not relevent to the play--just the idea that they are prayers n shit...anyway, I translated. Cool.

Speaking of which, Hebrew is a fucking bitch to translate into English and I never realized it until today. The languages have words/propositions that don't even exist in english. For example: (In Hebrew) Hayeled omer l'et eema shelcha. (In literal translation) The boy talks to (et) mother of him. The word "et" in Hebrew simply marks a preposition and has no real english translation. That's just a SIMPLE sentence...think of how fucked up complicated sentences can get. Let me just say that Hebrew has absolutely no word for "is."

Kinda weird, but posting on LJ makes me miss some people from high school: Hana, Josh I, and Paul mostly.

[music |"Dive to Blue" by L'Arc~en~Ciel]

My whole life I've fought with myself over two things I am extremely passionate about: acting and animation. To this very day it's hard for me to decide which direction I would like to take in my future. As of now, I am a theatre arts major, but if things continue the way they have in the past, it could all change in seconds. I got accepted to DigiPen Institute of Technology and all other schools I applied to (only...rejected from NYU and deferred from Harvard). I think night and day at the opportunity I might have missed out on by going to UC Santa Cruz instead of DigiPen.

Also...I have been fascinated by Japan and the Japanese language for quite some time, but for some reason I opted to take Hebrew, a language I am already fluent in, over Japanese. Decisions like this haunt me. Sure, I love the Hebrew language and I'm glad I'm learning more about the culture I was born into, but it still feels like something is missing. I was thinking about taking an off campus class, but that could prove to be difficult considering classes have already started.

I don't know. I seem to be in a pickle. I enjoy Acting and Animation. I enjoy Hebrew and Japanese. If I could do all of the above, I'd be stoked out of my mind. Anyway...I'll come back to this later today. I have a class now (Hebrew, lol how ironic).

college is great ^_____________^

Good to be back! [Nov. 6th, 2005|02:14 pm]

[music |Shpongle]

well, here I am updating my LiveJournal after a two year hiatus. About four years ago, an old friend of mine gave me a passcode for the site, so I don't really feel like wasting the privilege. High school was awesome. I met great people and forged some guarenteed-to-last friendships, but it's time to move on to a new part of my life: college.

Thus far, college has been nothing but a new and awesome experience. Sure, all the new things at once can get a little intense, but I feel all of it is necessary for my personal growth. I am taking 20 credits this quarter (for people on the quarter system, you know that's a lot), but I'm loving it. Everyday has something exciting to offer me whether it be a new person or a new place to go. College is not all peaches and cream, though. I've witnessed quite a bit of overdoses on alcohol and drugs, fights, and worst of all...NAKED PEOPLE RUNNING IN THE RAIN!! Now, if seeing a bunch of penises flop around isn't scary, I don't know what is. I also accidently walked in on two guys hooking up with eachother at a party...that was...hmm, how do I put it..."interesting?"

I have this final project due in december. It has to be artistic, so it's right up my ally. Only problem is I'm not sure what I'm going to do it on. I was thinking of compiling some of my poetry and drawing pictures about them. Then maybe I could put the words on the artwork? shit, I don't know...ideas anyone?

So, that's just a brief recap. I can tell you all about whatever if you'd like. I dont know exactly how many people are still aware of the existence of my LiveJournal. hahaha. Anyway, it's good to be back! ciao! ^_^

maybe I'll put up some pictures.

I've always wanted to be Elrond.... [Jan. 20th, 2002|09:14 am]

[music |Anything from LOTR]

I saw the movie last nite wit Hana and Paul...Marina didn't show because she didn't clean her half of the room. NEway, Hana laughed at the weirdest parts (Gandalf vs. Sauroman). Besides that, I am Elrond now (according to that test, I'm not Frodo...), but you you can still call me Frodo, Mr. Baggins, Mr Underhill, etc....

If I were a character in The Lord of the Rings, I would be Elrond, Elf, ruler of Rivendell and father of Arwen.

In the movie, I am played by Hugo Weaving.

Who would you be?
